The Margerison-McCann Team Management Index

The Margerison McCann Team Management Index is a 60 item questionnaire that elicits information about work preferences and translates these to roles on the Team Management Wheel, which in turn reflects the Types of Work Model It takes about 15 minutes to fill in the Team Management Index. It is then scored by a computer program at a profile center and the profile is sent back to you.

There are profile centers in the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia in Asia, the latter staffed by locals with many years of experience in using TMS in Asia.

The Team Management Index has been widely tested, both internationally and with many Asian management samples. Unlike many other management instruments it has been developed globally, not initially for one country. Therefore it is one of the few instruments that is cross-cultural in nature. The wording of items is easy to understand for any manager with a working knowledge of English.

Translations are available in many different languages including Japanese and Mandarin. Presently, work is being carried out to develop and validate the TMI in Bahasa and Thai.

The Team Management Index has been favorably reviewed by a British Psychological Society team for the Reviews of Tests (Occupational), and ongoing validity studies are managed by the Institute of Team Management Studies
