Barbara Eu

Barbara Eu is Research Director specialising in market and branding research in Asian markets.

Malaysian born and bred, Barbara has a background in advertising and travel and is an accredited Team Management Systems training facilitator. She has consulted with companies in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Thailand and the UK, in the publishing, education, and management consulting industries.

She is also managing editor of OPC's Web Publishing Division's Web Sites, and co-editor of the well known Asian Business strategy & Street Intelligence Ezine, and the market research resource Asia Market Research dot com.

Wai K Leong

Leong brings with him more than 18 years of experience in the manufacturing, services and retail industries; having had a career that spanned across a wide spectrum of industries, both local and multi-national. In his capacity as a business coach and trainer, he draws from his wide experiences gained in marketing, sales and operations through his previous roles as an engineer, manager, trainer and consultant.

He was a Group General Manager of a public listed company. Leong pioneered and developed the Integrated Business System ™ for small and medium sized businesses and was the founder of the Entrepreneur Development Club.

Leong is also the founding President of Malaysian Business Coaches Network (A Coachville, US affiliate) and the Coachville Country Director. In 2004, Leong and his team successfully launched the world's first true coaching software that enables an organization to implement a coaching culture. He has coached and trained hundreds of people ranging from CEO's to senior managers and executives. Among some of his clients are GlaxoSmithKline, IBM, SBB Mutual Bhd., ICI, Maxis, Chemical Corporation (M), Bridgestone (M), Standard Chartered Bank and many others.

Dr Dennis McConnell

Dr Denis McConnel is a well known authority in international finance from the University of Maine. He was also Chairman and Vice President for several engineering companies and has served on the consulting staff of Arthur Anderson and the international banking division of American Express (Germany).

He received his Doctorate in Buiness Administration from the University of Maryland and his MBA from the University of Chicago.

He is on the editorial board of Competitiveness Review, Journal of East-West Business, and the Journal of Transnational Management Development, and has worked with the US Trade and Development program (USTDA), International Executive Service Corps (IESC), and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

An expert in Eastern Europe, Dr McConnel has also served as Team Leader for visiting business delegations to China, and has consulted in the areas of team effectiveness and management education. He has also taught at the National Economics Univerity (Hanoi, Vietnam), and Jakarta Institute of Management (Jakarta, Indonesia).

His research and consulting interests include Corporate Financial Management, Financial/Economic Analysis, economic development, management development, Privatisation, International Competitiveness, Financial Accounting Systems, and Business Planning.

Dr. Chira Hongladarom

Dr Chira Hongladarom is a well known business consultant and academic based in Bangkok as Associate Professor in the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University and Chairman of Asia Pacific Consultants Ltd. He is President of STP&I (Public) Co. Ltd, advisor to Thailand government ministries of Finance and Education and serves on many public committees. He also advises the World Bank and the International Labour Organization. He is the presenter of the monthly television program "Towards the 21st Century", presenter of the documentary "People First", and was a columnist for the Bangkok Post from 1994 to 1995.

Educated in Bangkok, New Zealand and the US, Dr Chira received Masters degrees in Economics and Public policy from the University of Wisconson and his Doctorate in Economics from the University of Washington.

Mike Harpham

Michael Harpham has a solid 25-year grounding in training and management development, and during the last 10 years has built up an international reputation in team and organisation development as TEAMwork Development Manager of HSBC Holdings Ltd and recently as Managing Director of Symfonys development.

As one of the leading team development specialists in the world, he has achieved impressive results (average improvements in team performance: 28%, using teams' own measures) with Chief Executives and their senior management teams in the banking, insurance, airline, trading, entertainment, publishing, telecoms, training and educational industries, and with charitable organisations, improving personal, team and organisational effectiveness and developing organisational culture.

Barry Smith

Barry is a graduate of Cambridge university and has worked at hands-on, strategic, and consulting roles for large international companies involved in packaging, petroleum, gas, building products, transport, agriculture and computer services. The main focus of his work is on building senior management teams, and "developing managers for real". Barry's' client list includes ACI, ICI, Mobil, Shell, Westpac, Bank of Singapore, Thai Glass, KL Glass, BHP (Vietnam), and the Knight-Ridder Financial Group (Hong Kong and Singapore). He is an editorial advisory board member of the Journal of Cross-Cultural Management. He resides in Melbourne Australia and makes frequent visits to Asia
